In Surabaya, this meal is understood as Ote-ote (which means that "naked" in English) - do not raise my why, whereas in different cities, they known as it Bakwan Udang (prawn meatball). I do not grasp where originally this meal comes from. however in my hometown, it is a common snack and straightforward to search out. I should purchase it in some food stall selling totally different reasonably snacks. Here, as usual ... I even have to form it unaccompanied. Ingredients
- one hundred g bean sprouts
- two carrots, thinly sliced and blanched
- one celery leaf, chopped
- fifty g little prawn, cleaned and washed
- fifty g plain flour
Spice Paste
- two shallots
- two cloves of garlic
- one teaspoon pepper powder
- 1/2 block seasoning mixture (1/2 sachet Royco/Knorr)
Directions
1. Grind or mix the spice paste.
2. combine all the ingredients. Then add two or three tablespoons of water to combine them well. If the mixture is just too watery, add additional flour.
3. Heat the oil in deep wok. Take a little deep ladle and warmth it up into the new oil. When it's hot enough, take it out and place two tablespoons of mixture and add prawn on the highest. Bring it to fry. once someday, take away the mixture from the ladle and continue fry till it turns brown.
